Sophie Garner and The New Breed

Terrific seven-piece band

Sophie Garner and The New Breed comprises Sophie and a team of five jazz musicians performing music by the likes of Louis Jordan with songs such as Five Guys Named Mo and Is She is or is She Ain’t? In the recreation of this period the band is the authentic sound of the1950’s Jump-Jive, Rhythm and Blues. This lively music – also similar in style to Jools Holland - is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor and swinging!

Sophie Garner has sung on numerous TV and radio shows, including “Swing Time” for BBC Wales, “Metroland” for Carlton TV, “The Warehouse” for Channel 4, Sky News and Campbell Burnap’s show on Jazz FM. Most recently she has performed in a short film with Jack Shepherd called ‘Lipstick’ for which she wrote the theme tune.

In addition she has performed for countless sessions and as a feature artist on many period drama productions. Her band has performed at Derry and Southport International Jazz Festival, and corporate clients have included The House of Commons, Ernst & Young, Anderson-Soames, Innovex, Talking Presentations and Sony, and HMS Invincible.

In the next year, the band’s dates include the Muscat jazz Festival in Dubai and the Polish Jazz Festival, as well as touring across Dubai, South Africa and India to promote their new album.
