Nicolas Meier

Gifted guitarist with wide experience and extensive repertoire

Swiss-born Nicolas Meier studied guitar at the Fribourg Conservatoire from the age of twelve gaining his Certificat de Guitare Jazz. Moving to the United States in 1994 he furthered his guitar studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Previously, Nicolas formed the band "No Miss No Mess" in 1988 performing throughout Switzerland including two performances at the Rock BPS (Festival du Locle) where he won "Best Musician" prize. Two recordings followed: "Nocturnal Work " and "Mysterious Liberty" and apprearances with the "Big Band du Conservatoire Fribourg" directed by Max Jendly.

Nicolas Meier is now living in London where he does studio work and performs with bands in different styles. He has had residencies at Pizza Express and now performs with a number of jazz musicians on the London hotel circuit and regularly at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
