Beside his expertise on accordion he possesses a fine tenor voice and an extensive repertoire acquired over many years as an entertainer, having worked both here and abroad. His longest period on the continent was in fact in Spain's Costa del Sol in what is possibly the most popular restaurant in Marbella, Toni Dalli's Oasis Club. There, his musicianship and singing quickly established his popularity with the international clientelle, so much so that Toni Dalli and Steve Merrick soon became synonymous with excellent cuisine and superlative entertainment. Back home in London Steve Merrick has worked in many of the leading restaurants and hotels, including two six-monthly periods as resident musician in The Park Lane 'Hilton'.
