Stylish and professional harpist for any occasion
Following her training at the Royal College of Music with Marisa Robles, Sophy Cartledge has pursued a career as a professional harpist at an international level. She has been Principal Harpist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Bremerhaven Theatre Orchestra, Germany and Principal Harpist with Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet Orchestra, performing with many prestigious foreign ballet companies including The Bolshoi and Kirov from Russia, the Paris Ballet, New York City Ballet, and The Australian Ballet.

Free-lance work has taken Sophy the length and breadth of the UK, performing with many major orchestras including: Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (with Sir Simon Rattle), Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Welsh National Orchestra, New Queens Hall Orchestra, and many others.

Sophy Cartledge has taken part in performances at the National Theatre, and small dance groups performing at Sadlers Wells Theatre. In addition she has a long-standing association with the Bands of The Royal Marines and performed in “The Mountbatten Festival of Music” at the Royal Albert Hall.

She has played for numerous weddings and functions, and venues include the Rose Garden at Ham House near Richmond, and the famous Cliveden House, as well as residencies at the Hilton and the Strand in London.

Television appearances include a series of Lenten programmes called “People on the Way”, work accompanying Cliff Richard on a Christmas Eve showing of “Songs of Praise”.
