International work as a guitarist has taken Neil to Italy and France where he has performed with music clubs & festivals, both as a soloist and in ensembles such as Serenata, (music for voice and guitar) and as part of Old English Enterprises. Recent concerts in the UK include Dillington Guitar Festival, Cartmel Priory and Kendal mid-day concerts, and future projects include work in Chalais, France, Benicassim, Spain and at St Alban’s Arts Centre. He has worked with guitarists such as Carlos Bonell, Timothy Walker and Amanda Cook and singers Susan Heaton-Wright and Nadia Bishara. Neil also sings as a tenor and trained with the English National Opera Bayliss programme and subsequently has taken roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini, Bizet and Arne, and worked with the London Opera Players, St Albans Chamber Opera and Opera Box. As a soloist on the concert platform he has taken roles in Messiah, The Creation and Mozart’s Requiem. Neil has recently completed an arrangement of Manuel de Falla’s seven popular songs and Ravel’s five popular Greek songs for two guitars and voice which were performed at the Dillington Guitar Festival. He is currently working on arrangements for a number of popular pieces such as ‘My heart will go on’ from Titanic and English folksongs for voice and guitar. He is happy to arrange songs or music for weddings or other events and recent arrangements include Moon River, It had to be you, theme from Titanic and Evergreen. |
